"One weekend a month, two weeks a year" is a former recruiting slogan used by the U.S. Army National Guard. It indicated the amount of time an individual would need to spend actively in the Guard to be a Guardsman with benefits. It was dropped during the Iraq War after it became clear that Guardsmen were now serving considerably more time in service. The slogan "one weekend a month, two weeks. The average book I read was maybe pages. Some were larger, some were smaller. I broke this down to 40 pages a day, which I read early on so I can get it over with. One weekend a month, two weeks a year is a lie. If you haven’t figured it out already, your recruiter wasn’t your friend. Sure he might have given you a backpack and told you about how awesome it is to shoot shit, but you’re a number. Get used to it. That’s the military way. The most egregious lie told to new recruits is the actual.   One week in December was one of my favorite books for winter. I liked how every single family member in the huge Rowan family had their own secrets. I also like the mini battles between family members because of those secrets and the final results of the battles. Plus this book /5().
